Last Friday, Japan was hit by a terrible earthquake and tsunami. As a result of these natural disasters, there is also the possibility of two nuclear meltdowns at damaged reactors in Northern Japan.

Since then, many of our family and friends have been asking us how they can help.
The following information is what we have heard from the Japanese government:

“The Japanese Red Cross Society is collecting donations to assist victims of the natural disasters that have struck the region. You can help the Red Cross provide shelter, food, blankets, etc. to victims by donating to their relief fund. The Japanese Red Cross Society’s website often reaches user capacity but is still in operation. http://www.jrc.or.jp/english/ index.html

However, you can also donate directly to the Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief efforts of the American Red Cross now.”

We wish everyone up north a speedy and safe recovery.
